David Melton serves as Principal Broker at Pointe Commercial Real Estate, specializing in automotive retail and aftermarket real estate, owner transactions, and strategic advisory services throughout the Southeast. With more than 40 years of firsthand experience in dealership operations, acquisitions, ownership transitions, and commercial real estate, David advises owner-operators, investors, developers, and privately held businesses on real estate strategy, capital planning, acquisitions, dispositions, and succession-driven transactions.
His experience spans franchised and independent dealerships, collision centers, tire and service operations, quick-lube facilities, automotive franchises, car wash properties, commercial truck facilities, and operating real estate assets throughout the Southeast. Because of his background as both an operator and advisor, David evaluates opportunities through operational, financial, and real estate perspectives. As a result, clients benefit from practical guidance that extends beyond traditional brokerage services.
Throughout his career, David has worked closely with dealer principals, owner-operators, investors, and privately held businesses evaluating acquisitions, growth opportunities, facility strategy, ownership transitions, succession planning, recapitalizations, and exit-oriented transactions involving both operating businesses and the underlying real estate. His understanding of operations, fixed absorption, facility requirements, cash flow, capital structure, and long-term asset value allows him to help owners align real estate decisions with broader business and ownership objectives.

His experience includes investment sales, sale-leaseback transactions, business acquisitions and dispositions, redevelopment opportunities, and ownership transition strategies involving both operating businesses and commercial real estate assets.
Unlike traditional brokerage assignments, many of these decisions involve aligning business operations, ownership goals, and real estate strategy to maximize long-term enterprise value. Along with overseeing the PCRE Automotive division, David is also the Managing Principal for both Pointe Automotive and Melton Advisors.
